Choosing the Right Conveyor Belt Splicing Materials
A hot vulcanization splice is built up in layers, and each layer calls for a different material. Tie gum bonds the internal carcass plies of fabric, nylon, and polyester belts. Cover rubber protects the outer surface of the joint and extends to steel cord constructions. Vulcanizing cement prepares the surface so both bond properly during curing.
