HUAYE Cover Rubber — Hot Vulcanizing Adhesive for Conveyor Belt Splicing

HUAYE Cover Rubber is an uncured rubber compound used on the top and bottom cover surfaces of a splice joint during hot vulcanization. As part of a complete conveyor belt hot splicing adhesive system, it works alongside our core rubber and vulcanizing cement to protect the splice from wear, and it’s compatible with a wider range of belts — including steel cord, fabric, nylon, and polyester constructions.

  • Hot vulcanizing adhesive for conveyor belt cover-surface splicing
  • High wear resistance — abrasion loss ≤120 mm³
  • Broad compatibility, including steel cord belts
  • Custom width & thickness — made to order

HUAYE Cover Rubber is an uncured rubber compound applied to the top and bottom cover surfaces of a conveyor belt splice joint during hot vulcanization. It cures under heat and pressure alongside the belt’s carcass-bonding layer, protecting the splice from wear and extending its working life. Model reference: HUAYE-50XX series (e.g. HUAYE-5001 = 500mm width × 1mm thickness).

Key Features

  • High wear resistance — abrasion loss ≤120 mm³, protects the splice surface under continuous operation
  • Broad compatibility — suitable for steel cord, fabric, nylon, and polyester conveyor belts
  • Long shelf life — 12 months when stored cool and dry (below 25°C)
  • Made to order — custom width and thickness available to match your splice specification

Handling Notes

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

Treat as a general non-flammable item during transport and handling.

Shelf life is 12 months when stored below 25°C — use within this period for best bonding performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is conveyor belt cover rubber used for?

Cover rubber is applied to the top and bottom surfaces of a conveyor belt splice during hot vulcanization. It works as part of a complete conveyor belt hot splicing adhesive system — protecting the joint from surface wear once the belt is back in operation.

Is HUAYE Cover Rubber suitable for steel cord conveyor belts?

Yes. Unlike tie gum (core rubber), which is intended for fabric/nylon/polyester carcass belts only, HUAYE Cover Rubber covers a broader range — including steel cord belt constructions.

What’s the difference between cover rubber and tie gum?

Tie gum (core rubber) bonds the internal carcass plies together. Cover rubber is used on the outer top/bottom surfaces of the splice and has a wider compatibility range, including steel cord belts. Most hot vulcanization splices use both.

Can the width and thickness be customized?

Yes. Width and thickness are made to order. Our model code reflects this — HUAYE-5001, for example, refers to a 500mm width × 1mm thickness reference size, with other sizes available on request.

How should cover rubber be stored?

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C. Shelf life is 12 months under these conditions. Treat as a general non-flammable item during transport.
